Amy Mowry joined Beatty & Wozniak in 2007 with nearly two years of experience in title examination. With an extensive background in writing and research as well as first-hand familiarity with multiple use issues on public lands, Amy brings additional expertise and insight to Beatty & Wozniak’s strong title and due diligence team.
Amy grew up on a cattle ranch in Wyoming and loved both the country life and the excitement offered in books. Secretly hoping to one day write best-selling novels from a remote high-plains outpost, she entered the University of Pennsylvania to pursue an economics degree and gravitated toward the study of history and literature. After returning to Wyoming, Amy taught English Composition and completed a Master’s degree in English, then taught English with the Peace Corps in Morocco, followed by a Master of Education at Harvard. She moved to Colorado to teach and to begin work on a doctorate in American literature, where her lifelong involvement with the family ranch, coupled with her growing concern for natural resources and land use developments in the Rocky Mountain region convinced her to focus on the law. She completed her J.D. at the University of Wyoming with the certain goal of working toward natural resources solutions. “Energy law reaches into every corner of our lives. Developers today care about not only producing and transporting energy responsibly, but also how to use it wisely, and how best to handle the repercussions of that use. It’s up to conscientious advocates to help companies find tenable solutions to today’s energy challenges.”
Amy often travels to the family ranch in Wyoming, where she moonlights as a ranch hand, enjoys riding horses and considers herself a good sport when snowmobiles or motorcycles are involved. She also hikes in the mountains anywhere she can. She appreciates all things literary and is especially fond of histories and independent films. |
