David Jack joined Beatty & Wozniak in 2007 with more than 25 years experience in the energy industry. Spending many years as a consulting landman, and now as an attorney representing energy companies, David provides oil and gas title opinions to Beatty & Wozniak clients.
Having worked as a consulting landman and project coordinator for a number of oil and gas companies, David understands the value of gaining trust. Successful negotiations of oil and gas agreements over the years have resulted from his skilled approach to working with a wide variety of people in a multitude of environments, from family farms to corporations. Able to converse on an appropriate level with varied audiences, ranging from technical explanations to client-specific concerns, David’s career has spanned numerous basins and included countless energy-related transactions.
David brings his practical understanding of the industry to Beatty & Wozniak, focusing his time on authoring title opinions specifying both ownership and disbursement of proceeds from production of oil and gas. “Coming from the consumer side, I know the value of accurate, timely and cost-appropriate title opinions, and that’s what I try to provide our clients. It’s both energizing and satisfying for me.”
David completed both his undergraduate and law degrees in Oklahoma, first coming to Denver in 1982. After numerous industry associates in recent years recommended Beatty & Wozniak as the best firm in the area for energy law practice, David combined his knowledge and expertise of the industry with that of the other veterans at the firm. David is an avid observer of politics and international affairs. He enjoys cycling, running, tennis, hiking and snow skiing. “Being active, outdoors and in the mountains when possible is a priority.” David also enjoys humor, “not only because it is fun, but because it facilitates almost everything else.”
