Elizabeth Odell (“Betsy”) joined Beatty & Wozniak in 2007 with more than 26 years experience in the energy industry, as both a landman and an attorney for major oil and gas companies.
Betsy grew up in the Rocky Mountains and developed a great appreciation for the resources of the western U.S. through traveling on her many courthouse excursions to examine title. While in law school, Betsy worked for Amoco Production Company, and then moved to their land department after graduation where she concentrated on lease acquisitions, due diligence, and contract negotiations. Betsy also worked with various governmental agencies to facilitate exploration and production activities. Since then, she has worked as a solo practitioner emphasizing oil and gas negotiations, title work, regulatory compliance and other legal matters.
At Beatty & Wozniak, Betsy focuses on researching land issues and writing title opinions. Her experience “piecing together stories from dusty old books” and learning the history of the land is also buoyed by her knowledge of many different levels of the energy industry and a common sense approach to what is needed by clients to accomplish their business goals.

A graduate of University of Denver College of Law, in her leisure time Betsy can usually be found hiking, skiing or otherwise enjoying the outdoors with her family. |
