Kelly de la Torre joined Beatty & Wozniak, P.C., in 2008, bringing a science and intellectual property background to the firm. Kelly’s practice focuses on energy and electrical power transmission project development, including matters concerning both state and federal regulatory commissions. In addition to project development, her practice includes governmental relations in the energy industry and Kelly is engaged in policy initiatives related to transmission and energy development at both the state and federal level.
Through her governmental relations efforts, Kelly advocates on behalf of energy clients for the advancement of renewable energy and transmission development and monitors policy changes that will affect transmission and energy development throughout the rocky mountain region. Kelly has assisted clients in connection with transmission issues, and regularly counsels clients on strategies in response to changing state laws affecting the energy industry as well as efforts by related government and quasi-government authorities to advance energy development.
Prior to joining Beatty & Wozniak, P.C., Kelly worked with companies developing emerging technologies in the energy industry and focused in particular on the commercialization aspects of bringing the technology to market. Kelly has represented various renewable energy companies and an electrical power cable company in the utility industry.
Kelly is a graduate of the Rutgers School of Law – Camden, New Jersey, and holds a B.S. in biochemistry and an M.S. in chemistry from the University of New Mexico. |
