Michael Noone has been with Beatty & Wozniak since its doors opened in 1998. Prior to the firm’s inception, Michael worked with Mike Beatty on a major energy case and, despite the fact that he had not planned on becoming an energy attorney, Michael was hooked. A graduate of Temple University School of Law, Michael was already on the fast track to partnership at a large firm in town, when he decided to risk the unknown and
join Beatty. “Understanding an industry from top to bottom like we do quickly opens up communication with clients,” Michael says. “A client will call and say, ‘Here’s the problem.’ And we can immediately respond, ‘Well, have you thought about the regulatory implications of that, or what about the economic implications of this.’ They appreciate having a lawyer who engages them right away and understands their business.”
Michael is the General Counsel for SourceGas LLC and its affiliates. SourceGas is a large natural utility provider located in Lakewood, Colorado, with operations in Colorado, Wyoming and Nebraska. Michael will remain with Beatty & Wozniak.
Like Beatty, Michael sees a stable, yet dynamic and diverse future in the energy industry. “This is not a new technology, or something like the dot-com industry of the '90s. Energy sources may change and we may yet move to a hydrogen economy, but there will always be contract issues, regulatory issues and so forth. That’s not going away.”
Michael is married and has four children. He studies the guitar, has traveled by motorcycle across the United States, and has sailed in the GP14 World Sailing Championships. |
