Ryan graduated from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law, where he focused on natural resources and environmental law. During law school Ryan interned with a Denver based group representing the interest of independent power producers. He worked to ensure PUC proceedings allowed for fair bidding processes when new sources of energy, including gas, wind, and solar, were needed to meet the energy needs of Coloradans.
After law school Ryan worked with a company focusing on litigation support for CERCLA cases. Here Ryan worked primarily on potentially responsible party searches (PRPs) in connection with CERCLA litigation, which included historical and operational research of designated sites as well as patent to present site ownership determinations. Ryan subsequently worked as a landman in the Rocky Mountain region. As a landman, Ryan completed mineral and leasehold title reports for lease acquisition in Colorado, Wyoming, and North Dakota. Additionally, Ryan worked on large acquisition due diligence projects.
Ryan’s practice at Beatty & Wozniak focuses primarily on the preparation of Drilling and Division Order Title Opinions in covering federal, state, and fee lands in Colorado and Wyoming.
