Our attorneys’ in-house counsel experience gives us a distinct appreciation for energy companies’ budgetary concerns when contracting for outside legal services.  That’s why we provide flexible billing options to our clients, so you can choose a billing structure that best suits your corporate financial model.  Our fee options include hourly billing, fixed project fees and annual retainers.

Like all law firms, we offer straight hourly billing on a project or case basis.  This is the usual law firm billing model, where clients are billed at quoted attorney rates for actual time spent working on each matter.

A fixed fee option is available for short-term legal projects and transactions.  These fees are negotiated on a case-by-case basis.

We also offer an annual retainer option for those clients with whom we work closely on a variety of legal matters throughout the year.  In these situations, our clients appreciate the fact that annual retainers provide more predictability in budget management, as their attorney fees can be budgeted at a fixed cost that won’t increase in a given year, no matter how many hours our attorneys may spend on a particular matter.  They also know they have the ability to pick up the phone and get industry-informed legal advice on any matter at any time, without having to worry about the impact on the company’s legal budget.

From a legal perspective, we find that working with clients on a retainer basis helps us become more knowledgeable about their day-to-day business activities, making us better informed whenever business transactions or disputes arise that may require legal advice.
