Biography
Matt Schreiner is an accomplished attorney with over a decade of experience in corporate, transactional, and oil and gas law. Prior to joining Beatty & Wozniak, Matt worked as both in-house and outside counsel, providing strategic legal guidance to clients operating globally. He is recognized for his exceptional ability to navigate intricate corporate legal landscapes with precision and insight.
Matt's deep appreciation for the energy industry stems from his upbringing in Gillette, Wyoming, a community immersed in the vitality of natural resources. His journey into law began after pursuing an undergraduate degree at Simpson University on a baseball scholarship. At Simpson, he majored in Business Administration and minored in Bible & Theology, laying a robust foundation for his future legal career.
Before embarking on his legal studies at the University of Wyoming College of Law, Matt worked in numerous political positions, which included an internship at the White House for Vice President Dick Cheney. These formative experiences not only enriched Matt's understanding of governance and policy but also instilled in him a commitment to excellence and a meticulous approach to his legal practice.
Selected Experience:
-Negotiated and drafted mergers and acquisitions and purchase and sale agreements totaling hundreds of millions of dollars in value.
-Negotiated and drafted hundreds of service contracts, midstream agreements and JOAs.
-Counseled clients on corporate formation and governance, including serving on the board as secretary.
-Developed strategies to mitigate legal and operational risks associated with oil and gas operations, including insurance coverage and risk allocation in contracts.
