“My introduction to the oil and gas industry was as an independent landman. The experience that I gained and the relationships that I was fortunate enough to establish have proven invaluable over the course of my career. For example, I have always tried to draft title opinions from the landman’s perspective seeking practical and efficient solutions to title issues. In addition, I have worked with, and learned from, many wonderful people in the industry through the years, dedicated to providing oil and gas in an efficient, cost effective and environmentally safe manner. I owe a lot to those who unselfishly gave their valuable time to help me along the way and that guidance has only increased my energy and enthusiasm for this exciting and innovative industry.”
Bob Hoehn joined Beatty & Wozniak, P.C. in May, 2013 and is currently the head of the firm’s Title Practice Group. Bob has over 35 years of experience in oil and gas law, including acquisitions and other transactional matters, real property and mineral title examinations, title curative work, transaction due diligence, and administrative matters involving the Bureau of Land Management, Mineral Management Services, and the Colorado Oil and Gas Conservation Commission. In addition, his practice also focuses on general corporate law, including business organization and operations issues and contract negotiation and drafting.
Prior to joining Beatty & Wozniak, Bob was a partner in the Denver office of Rothgerber Johnson & Lyons LLP, (now Lewis Roca Rothgerber Christie LLP). Before that, Bob was a partner in the Denver law firm of Clanahan Tanner Downing & Knowlton, P.C. and was the managing partner in the Englewood law firm of Corporon Hoehn Svitavsky Eyler & Hill, P.C. He has in-depth experience in land title examination in the Rocky Mountain region, and was formerly employed as a landman by an independent oil and gas lease brokerage, as well as a title examiner for a Kansas title insurance company.
Bob has been a frequent speaker on title and oil and gas issues and has written and presented a number of papers, including a practical guide on how to prepare an abstract for landmen and curing title issues related to defunct business entities.
