OVERVIEW

 

Jennifer joined Beatty & Wozniak, P.C. in 2019, and focuses her practice on oil and gas and environmental matters. Jennifer specializes in advising clients on leasing issues and compliance with federal statutes.   She brings a diverse skill set to the firm, as well as a strong passion for industry.

Prior to joining Beatty & Wozniak, P.C., Jennifer worked for a Denver firm, where she prepared title opinions for clients throughout the Rocky Mountain region and Texas.  During law school, she worked as a Law Clerk in business law at a firm in Houston, Texas.

Before entering private practice, Jennifer worked as a landman for an international exploration and production company and was responsible for the preservation of hundreds of leases scattered across the Denver-Julesburg Basin.  

As an undergraduate, Jennifer wrote her senior thesis on “Is Obtaining a Professional Law Degree a Financially Sound Investment.” She also played on the Colorado College Division I Women’s Soccer Team and the USA Women’s Soccer Team at the 2015 World University Games in Gwangju, South Korea.

Environmental Compliance and Regulatory

  • Wrote and executed Title Clearance Memoranda pursuant to state and local requirements for plugging and abandoning vertical and horizontal wells.

  • Prepared research memoranda and advised on client circumstances, including production payments, prescriptive easement ownership, and facility development on Indian lands.

Transactional

  • Drafted responses to third party demand letters from private citizens and municipalities.

  • Drafted a request for suspension of operations and production on federal oil and gas leases.

Title

  • Co-authored title opinion covering fee, federal, and state lands.

  • Drafted working interest and mineral reports, chain of title assessments, and ORRI burdens.

  • Federal lease file review, including operating rights, lease status, and record title and encumbrance analysis.
