Stephen joined the Santa Fe, New Mexico office of Beatty & Wozniak in 2011 and became a shareholder in the firm in 2014. As an attorney representing the oil and gas industry, Stephen’s goal is to consistently deliver comprehensive solutions, advice, and information to our clients in a timely, cost effective, and accurate manner.

Growing up in Louisiana, Stephen has been working in the oil and gas industry since 1997 as both a landman and an attorney. While attending law school in the evenings, Stephen continued to work as a landman, running title and buying leases throughout South Louisiana during the days. Stephen graduated from the Loyola University of New Orleans College of Law, cum laude in 2004, was a member of the Loyola Law Review, and a William Crowe Scholar.

During his career as a lawyer, Stephen has exclusively represented the oil and gas industry. He specializes in rendering drilling, division order, leasehold and acquisition title opinions on federal, state, fee and Indian lands, representing clients in all phases of acquisition and divestiture transactions and oil and gas regulatory matters in front of the New Mexico Oil Conservation Division. He is licensed to practice in the State of New Mexico and the State of Louisiana.
