Senior Counsel

Krystal Hunter is a seasoned corporate energy attorney with experience in mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, strategic planning, and commercial business transactions across the energy, construction, and industrial sectors. She brings a strong combination of upstream oil and gas, midstream infrastructure, and corporate M&A expertise.

Krystal has led and supported a wide range of domestic and international transactions, including stock and asset acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures, corporate governance, and commercial real estate transactions. She is highly skilled in structuring, negotiating, and closing deals involving energy assets, manufacturing facilities, and real estate portfolios. She also has a deep understanding of title, land, and environmental due diligence.

Prior to joining Beatty & Wozniak, P.C., Krystal served as the Associate General Counsel at Heidelberg Materials US, Inc., where she managed mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, and strategic initiatives for one of the world’s largest building materials companies. She provided comprehensive legal support from term sheet through post-closing integration, overseeing due diligence, drafting and negotiating transaction documents, and coordinating with business, tax, and environmental teams.

Prior to that role, Krystal served as Senior Vice President, Corporate Secretary and General Counsel for The Brock Group, where she globally directed their legal and risk management functions of their international industrial services and construction company. She led corporate-level M&A, divestitures, and restructurings across North America and Latin America, and managed real estate transactions, land clearance, and environmental due diligence.

Krystal brings a strong foundation in the energy sector, shaped by firsthand experience inside operating companies. Her client-side background provides practical understanding of strategic planning, commercial priorities, and operational execution, allowing her to deliver advice that is both legally sound and business-driven.

  • Lead counsel on M&A and joint venture transactions, including drafting and negotiating stock and asset purchase agreements, joint venture and operating agreements, and real estate purchase and sale agreements.
  • Extensive experience reviewing title commitments, surveys, and mineral ownership documentation, and preparing title objection letters and curative documents.
  • Negotiated operating and joint venture agreements, pipeline easements, and real estate acquisitions and dispositions.
  • Advised senior management on HSR/antitrust compliance, corporate governance, and integration planning for acquired entities.
