Margaret Irene Olson

Maggie Olson joined Beatty & Wozniak, P.C. in 2023 as Senior Counsel in the Bismarck, North Dakota office. Maggie has expertise in environmental, natural resources, and administrative law. She served for 16 years as an Assistant Attorney General in the North Dakota Office of Attorney General’s Natural Resources and Native American Affairs Division.

During her time as an Assistant Attorney General, Maggie was General Counsel for the North Dakota Department of Environmental Quality and other natural resources agencies. She also worked on numerous environmental enforcement matters and litigated several environmental cases on behalf of the State of North Dakota. She is knowledgeable about a variety of environmental laws, including air quality, water quality, and waste management.

Maggie was born and raised in Minot, North Dakota, and received her undergraduate degree from the University of North Dakota. She graduated from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law in 2006. After law school, she worked as a Law Clerk with the Colorado Court of Appeals before returning home to North Dakota.
